Quick answer

  • Hata Malaysia has no USDT. USDT is only on Hata Global, which you have to apply for yourself.
  • Route 1: buy a coin on Hata Malaysia, move it to your own Global account, and sell it for USDT.
  • Route 2: deposit USD through SWIFT to Hata Global, and convert it to USDT.

What you need

  • A verified Hata Malaysia account
  • A Hata Global account that has been approved and is active
  • A clear reason why you need USDT

What USDT is, and what it is not

USDT is a stablecoin: a crypto that tries to keep the same value as 1 US dollar. People use USDT to move value between platforms, or to hold value in dollars without leaving the crypto world.

USDT is not ringgit and not a bank deposit. The value of USDT in ringgit goes up and down with the USD/MYR exchange rate, and a stablecoin depends on the company that issues it. There is no PIDM protection.

Route 1: move crypto from Hata Malaysia

This route uses the ringgit you already have in Hata Malaysia.

  1. On Hata Malaysia, buy a coin that is available on both platforms (for example BTC or ETH). Instant Buy has a fee of Instant Buy / Instant Sell fee: 1% (shown on the quote)Checked 22 Sep 2026 · Source: Hata app (skrin quote Instant Buy dan Instant Sell, 22 Sep 2026).
  2. Wallet → coin → Send → send it to your own account on Hata Global (cross-platform transfer). Enter the email code and 2FA.
  3. Switch the platform to Hata Global (Profile → Platform).
  4. On Hata Global, sell that coin for USDT (for example on the BTC/USDT pair). The lowest taker fee is Hata Global taker fee (lowest tier): 0.25%Checked 22 Sep 2026 · Source: hata.io/en/gb/fees ↗.

Every step has a cost: the buying fee in Malaysia, the selling fee on Global, and the coin price can move while you are transferring. For small amounts, these fees added together can be large compared with the USDT you end up with.

Route 2: USD through SWIFT

This route is for people who have a bank account that can send USD.

  1. On Hata Global, open the USD (SWIFT) deposit details.
  2. Send USD from your bank. Your bank may charge for the international transfer.
  3. Once the USD arrives, convert it to USDT using the USDT/USD pair.

Which one to use

This site has not tested either route with a real account; the steps above follow Hata’s official help centre. In general, route 1 is simpler for people who only have ringgit, and route 2 makes sense for large amounts in USD. Check the fees in the app before every step.
