How to register for Hata without getting the code wrong
Open a Hata account in 10 minutes. Daus's link, the Referral code box, a 12-character password, email OTP, 2FA, and a 30-day second chance if you miss the code.

- An email address you check often
- A phone with a Malaysian number for 2FA
- Aged 18 or over, and a Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia
- Your original MyKad for KYC after registering
Start from Daus’s link
The easiest way is to open Daus’s link. It takes you straight to the Create a Hata account form, and the Referral code box is already filled with Daus’s code.
If you register in the Hata app on your phone and the code box is empty, type AF01JCMFAA into the Referral code box yourself before you tap Sign Up.

Hata Malaysia is open to Malaysian citizens living in MalaysiaWho can use Hata Malaysia: Malaysian citizens living in Malaysia, aged 18 yearsMinimum age: 18 years and over. Each person can only have one verified account. If the same IC already has an account, a second registration will be rejected.
You can register with email, a Google account or AppleSign-up methods: email, a Google account or Apple. Your phone number is not used to register. It is used for 2FA afterwards.

- Email and password. Enter an email you check often. The password must be 12 characters, with a number, an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a symbol.
- Check the Referral code box. This is the most important screen. Make sure the Referral code box shows AF01JCMFAA before tapping Sign Up.
- Accept terms, captcha, Sign Up. Switch on the Terms of Use toggle, tick the Cloudflare captcha, and tap Sign Up. Or sign up with Apple or Google instead.
- Enter the email OTP. Hata emails a 6-digit code. It is valid for 30 minutes only.
- Register your phone for 2FA. Enter your phone number with the country code (+60). It is used for 2FA, a second layer of security.
- Enter the SMS OTP. Type the code from the SMS. Never share it with anyone, including people claiming to be Hata staff.
- Account created, now verify. After logging in, the app asks you to complete Identity Verification (KYC) before you can deposit and buy.
The password must be 12 characters
The Hata sign-up form now asks for a password of 12 characters, with at least 1 number, 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 symbolPassword rule: 12 characters, with at least 1 number, 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 symbol. Each requirement has an X mark that turns into a tick once it is met. Use a new password, not the password for your email or bank.

Missed the code? There is a second chance
Many people register first and only remember the code afterwards. With Hata, you can still add it, as long as it is within 30 days:
- Open the Hata app and tap Profile.
- Choose Rewards.
- Choose Affiliate Programme.
- Tap Enter Code and type AF01JCMFAA.
After 30 days, you can no longer add it. Every tutorial on this site is still for you.
What you get with the code
You get a 10% rebate on your own trading fees, paid every month into your Crypto Wallet. For example, a RM4 fee means RM0.40 back the following month. It is small, and Daus is telling you upfront: do not register just because of this rebate. Full details are on the reward page.
What happens after Sign Up
Once your email and phone are verified, the app asks you to complete Identity Verification (KYC). That means your MyKad, a live selfie, and a few questions. All of that is covered in the KYC tutorial.

What is the minimum age?
18 or older. Under 18, Hata's system rejects the sign-up.

Can non-citizens sign up?
Hata's help centre says Hata Malaysia is open to Malaysian citizens living in Malaysia. For foreigners living here it does not say clearly, so ask Hata through Contact Support before signing up.

Can I sign up with a phone number?
No. Hata accepts sign-up with an email, a Google account or Apple. Your phone number is asked for afterwards, for 2FA.
Where do I enter code AF01JCMFAA?
The easiest way is to open Daus's link, which fills the code in at sign-up. If you miss it, you can still add it within 30 days of signing up: Profile → Rewards → Enter a code. After 30 days, Hata no longer allows it.

I missed the code at sign-up. Can I still add it?
Yes, as long as it is within 30 days of signing up and you never used a Buddy Bonus code. Go to Profile → Rewards → Enter a code and type AF01JCMFAA. After 30 days it cannot be added, but every tutorial here still applies to you.

Can I have two Hata accounts?
No. One person can only have one verified account. A second account with the same ID will be rejected.
