How to buy your first crypto on Hata

Instant Buy first, Spot later

There are two ways to buy on Hata. Instant Buy (buying straight at the price Hata quotes) is the easiest way to begin. Spot (an order market where you set your own price) is cheaper but needs a bit of understanding. For your first purchase, use Instant Buy.

Open the coin in Wallet

Wallet → Crypto → BTC. Tap the Instant card to buy. The blue bar below means this coin carries a Shariah badge.

  1. Open the coin in Wallet. Wallet → Crypto → BTC. Tap the Instant card to buy. The blue bar below means this coin carries a Shariah badge.
  2. Type the RM amount. Make sure Instant Buy is selected. Type the amount in MYR. The minimum is RM30.
  3. Request quote, check, Accept quote. Tap Request quote. The screen shows the rate, the pay amount and Fees (1%). Tap Accept quote before the countdown ends.
  4. Purchase successful. The coin lands in your crypto wallet straight away.
  5. See the coin in Wallet. Wallet → Crypto shows every coin you hold.

What the quote shows

After you tap Request quote, the screen shows:

  • Rate: the price of 1 coin in MYR at that moment.
  • Pay amount: the amount of ringgit that will be deducted.
  • Fees (1%): the Instant fee, taken in coin when you buy.
  • Receive amount: the amount of coin you get after the fee.

The quote is valid for Instant quote validity: about 8 secondsChecked 22 Sep 2026 · Source: Hata app (kiraan detik butang Accept quote, 22 Sep 2026). If the time runs out, the button changes to Quote expired. Tap Refresh quote for a new price. Nothing is bought until you tap Accept quote.

Minimum RM30

Instant Buy has a minimum of Instant Buy minimum: RM30Checked 22 Sep 2026 · Source: Hata app (mesej ralat Instant Buy, 22 Sep 2026). If you type less than that, the app shows the message “Amount too small”. Selling has a minimum of roughly RM30 worth of coin.

Your first coin: your call

What's the difference between Instant Buy and Spot?

Instant Buy buys at the price Hata quotes, with a 1% fee shown on the quote. Spot is an order book: you place your own order, with a 0.40% taker fee and 0% maker fee. Instant covers 89 coins; Spot covers only 23 pairs.

What's the minimum buy?

Instant Buy starts at RM30. A Spot order must be worth at least 10 in the pair's currency (RM10 for MYR pairs). Auto-Invest is RM30 per coin.

An Instant quote is only valid for about 8 seconds. If you don't tap Accept quote in time, the button greys out. Tap Refresh quote for a new price.
