Mission 1 · Understand
Hata Malaysia vs Hata Global
Two platforms, one login. The differences in regulator, currency, stablecoins, fees and wallets between Hata Malaysia and Hata Global, explained neutrally.
Quick answer
- Hata Malaysia is under the SC, everything is in MYR, and there are no stablecoins. This is the default platform for Malaysians.
- Hata Global is under the Labuan FSA, works in USD and USDT, and has an OTC desk.
- The login is the same, but the wallets, balances and history are separate.
Why there are two platforms
Hata Malaysia and Hata Global are two separate platforms under two different regulators. When a Malaysian registers, the account is created on Hata Malaysia automatically, based on country and KYC details. Hata Global is not opened automatically.

One login, two wallets
You use the same email and password. But the balances, transaction history and services of each platform are separate. Coins you buy on Hata Malaysia do not show up on Hata Global, and the other way round.
To move crypto between the two platforms, Hata has a cross-platform transfer to your own account. The coin must be available on both platforms.
Coins: almost the same
As of 22 Sep 2026, the coin lists on both platforms are almost the same. Hata Global has a few extra coins and stablecoin pairs. So “more coins” is not the real difference. The real difference is USD, USDT and OTC.
Who needs which
- Most people: Hata Malaysia is enough to buy, sell, Auto-Invest and stake in ringgit.
- Hata Global: only for people who genuinely need USDT, want to manage money in USD, or want to make large OTC transactions. You have to apply for Hata Global on your own initiative.
If you are not sure, answer these three questions:
Do I need Hata Global?
Do you need USDT or USDC (stablecoins)?
Do you want to deposit or receive money in USD?
Do you want a single trade of USD 50,000 or more (OTC)?
Why this site does not promote Hata Global
The Hata Global application form asks you to declare that you are requesting access on your own initiative, not because of a promotion. That is why this site only explains the differences neutrally, and there is no sign-up button for Hata Global.
