Is Hata halal?
Who certifies Hata, the 15 coins with a Shariah badge, the five Islamic contracts Hata uses in plain language, and what the certification does not cover.
Quick answer
- Hata's platform structure is certified by Amanie Advisors, the Shariah adviser Hata appointed.
- 15 coins carry a Shariah badge in the app, including BTC, ETH and SOL. Other coins do not carry that badge.
- A Shariah badge is not a guarantee of profit. The price of a badged coin can fall too.
Who certifies it
Hata says its platform structure and mechanisms, meaning how buying and selling works, how wallets are kept, fees and staking rewards, are certified by Amanie AdvisorsShariah adviser: Amanie Advisors, the Shariah adviser Hata appointed. Hata’s own article also says the coins with a Shariah badge have been approved by the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) after a screening process.
The 15 coins with a Shariah badge

In the app, the page of a badged coin shows a blue bar that reads “This asset is Shariah Compliant.” Coins without the badge do not have that bar. For example, HBAR, DOGE, PEPE and all meme coins have no badge.
No badge does not necessarily mean haram. It means the coin is not on the approved list, so this site cannot say it is Shariah-compliant.
Five contracts in plain language
Hata’s Shariah page explains each part of the platform according to an Islamic contract. Daus explains them one by one:
- Bai’ (sale): every time you buy or sell crypto, ownership actually changes hands. It is not a forward contract or a bet on the price.
- Ujrah (wage): this is used for two things. First, staking rewards are given as a wage because you help validate network transactions. Second, the fee Hata charges is a wage for its service, and that fee is stated clearly.
- Wadi’ah (safekeeping in trust): Hata looks after your ringgit and crypto as a trustee.
- Ju’alah (reward for a task): this is the affiliate programme. People get a reward when they complete a certain task, for example inviting a friend.
- Wakalah (agency): Hata carries out transactions and withdrawals on your behalf, following your instructions.
What is not covered
- Coins without the badge. Certification of the platform does not mean every coin on Hata is Shariah-compliant. Do not assume all crypto on Hata is halal.
- Hata Global. The Shariah page Daus refers to is for Hata Malaysia. The Shariah badge in the Market tab only exists on Hata Malaysia.
- How you use it. If you buy and sell rapidly to speculate, that is a matter of your own intention and approach.
How to find badged coins in the app
Open the Home tab, scroll to the Market strip, and tap Shariah (it has a crescent moon icon). That strip shows the cards of badged coins. For the full list, use the Coin Explorer on this site and tap the Shariah badge filter.
What Daus holds

Is staking Shariah-compliant?
Hata's Shariah page says staking rewards follow the Ujrah principle, and the structure is endorsed by Amanie Advisors. SOL itself carries a Shariah badge. If unsure, ask a scholar or Shariah adviser you trust.
