- Limit order. Type the price and amount. The order waits in the order book until someone matches it. Switch on Post-Only to make sure you only pay the maker fee.
- Market order. Type only the RM amount. The order matches immediately at the best available price and pays the taker fee.
- Stop Limit order. The order activates when the price hits the trigger price, then becomes a Limit order.
- Check your orders. Open Orders for waiting orders; Order History and Trade History for completed ones.
Three order types
Market: you type only the RM amount, and the order goes through immediately at the best price. It is easy, but you pay the taker fee.
Limit: you set the price and the amount. The order waits until the price is reached. Turn on Post-Only if you want to make sure the order is a maker order: if the order would match immediately, it is cancelled instead of becoming a taker order.
Stop Limit: the order only becomes active when the price touches the trigger price. It is often used to limit losses. For buying, the trigger must be above the current price; for selling, it must be below the current price.
Common order errors
- Insufficient Balance: you do not have enough money, or another order is “locking” that money. Cancel the old order.
- Minimum order value is 10: price × amount is below RM10. Increase the amount.
- Post-Only cancelled: your price would match immediately. Lower your buy price or raise your sell price.
- Price too far from market: this is usually a misplaced decimal point. Check the price again.
